God's Mission, Many Faces - Mission Congress Kicks Off Today!

This week Catholic Volunteer Network members have convened in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the 2010 Mission Congress. This four day conference is bringing together mission and service-minded individuals from all across the United States to share the rich and life-giving work we are engaged in. The theme for the Congress is "God's Mission, Many Faces: A Portrait of US Catholics in Mission." Catholic Volunteer Network is one of the sponsoring organizations of this collaborative event.

Catholic Volunteer Network Coming to a Campus Near You!

This Fall will be a busy time for our Short-term Recruiters Catherine Drennan and Susannah Halsey, who joined our staff in mid-August. Currently they are making plans to visit over seventy different campuses, many of them new schools for Catholic Volunteer Network. That means if you are a current college student or volunteer recruiter you are likely to bump into them! Take a moment to get to know Susannah and Catherine a little better!

Catherine Drennan recently completed a year of service with Christian Brothers Volunteer Program, where she worked in New Orleans with Catholic Charities. Prior to that, Catherine earned her BA from Saint Anselm’s College with a degree in International Relations. She is currently planning recruitment visits to schools in Colorado, Wyoming, Minnesota, Michigan, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Susannah Halsey recently completed a year of service with Humility of Mary, working with the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center as a paralegal. Prior to that she earned her BA in Spanish from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Susannah is making arrangements to visit campuses in Washington, Idaho, California, New Mexico, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
We are delighted to have Catherine and Susannah on our Recruitment Team. We hope you get a chance to connect with them sometime during their travels this fall!
